Hi again, I really though I had it , but no, it ceased and so I start again.
We had 3 days on th.e Chobe river, cruising along at a very sedate pace, it was quite fascinating seeing the animals from the river side. T
here were really large amounts of animals, to see, we did a 3 hour cruise from the mother ship! there was only another couple on board, they were birders, as opposed to twitchers, from the UK, a bit older than us They were happy seeing what birds rhere were, but also happy to see the animals, .It was quite interesting for 1 trip to look at birds , but after that it was animals, give me more animals!! On the river we saw many many hippos, in the water in big groups looking like rocks jutting out of the water, there were lots of babies, and we had plenty of opportunities to see them out of the water as well. we got closer than from the land, which was often a bit nerve wracking, as they can move very fast, and when they think there is a threat to their babies, you wouldn't want to be in their way, between the mothers and the water. Got some fabulous photos of giraffe, there were maybe 25/ 30 of them we atched them cross the river, if you have ever seen the wildebeeste crossing up in the serengeti on the great migration, when they all cross the river and the crocodiles wait, well we had a mini that, as ape buffalos, elephants and the giraffes, all crossed while we watched. We returned to the boat for sundowne returned to the boat for drinks, included, wine beer, and soft drinks. spirits were extra. Also nile crocodiles, baboons, vervet monkeys, impala water buck, water monitors
